Grants management software is used by grants organisers and managers to help manage grants, corporate giving, funding, scholarship and other giving programs. The software is typically used to collect and manage applications from individuals, organisations or communities, and then have those applications assessed by a review panel for a decision on funding. The quality of software available varies wildly and it is important to confirm the software is reliable, has the right grants management features for your particular grants or funding program and can provide a good experience to all of your users. Importantly, grants management software deals with the personal data of applicants, so it is critical the software you choose has strong security measures and complies with privacy laws. What is the best grants management software? We believe it’s Good Grants, but that’s a biased opinion. Of course, you would expect us to say that. Enable you to accept applications the way you want? Have a method for handling duplicate applications? Will it help you save time and keep your program organised? Have workflow functionality to help you automate repetitive tasks? Empower reviewers with a suite of tools to make good adjudication decisions? Work in a language of your choice? Have strong security features? (and frankly, have the certificates to prove it?) Offer the use of the software without limitations on applications, users or uploaded files? How should I structure my grants program? All grants programs are different, and Good Grants can easily be configured to match your preferred method for structuring your program. However, we do have defaults in place which can help you get started if you or your organisation are offering a new grants or giving program. Is grants management software worth it? In our opinion, not when it costs US$20,000 a year just to use it! There are some incredibly high cost solutions out there. With Good Grants, you pay almost 25% of that cost and have access to the same or better features. Back to top General General questions about Good Grants Where are you based? Good Grants is owned by a company called Creative Force and that company is incorporated in Malta. However, we’re a fully remote organisation with no official “HQ”. We are a truly global company with good people covering every major time zone and on every continent. Can I use Good Grants on a tablet or mobile device? Yes! Any device capable of accessing and browsing the internet will have access to Good Grants. Good Grants responsively adapts to the device screen size you are using, all while providing a safe and secure way to apply, review, or manage your grants program. Can I import applications already received in another system/spreadsheet for management in the Good Grants platform? Yes! We have a comprehensive API and set of webhooks to allow you to do just that. If you can’t do it yourself, we have a separate service to do it for you. Will you take a percentage of our funding distribution or charge us for anything other than what we see on the pricing page? No. We take no percentage of your funding distribution and what you see on our pricing page is what you’ll pay. We prefer to keep it straightforward, simple and for you to be able to maximise your funding to good causes without worrying about how much of that is getting trimmed down by software fees. Is there a minimum or maximum limit on applications I need to receive in order to use Good Grants? We have no requirements or limits. If you have 1 applicant or 10 000 – you can use Good Grants and get access to the same great service and support. Good Grants is for everyone. Can I add my branding? Our Intro plan offers a clean, neutral design with the ability to add your logo at the top of each page. You purchase the use of Good Grants for your contract period and can have as many users, managers and admins as you need. We have zero hidden fees. Can I upgrade plans at any time? Yes. At the time of upgrading, you will be charged the difference for the remaining term of your subscription. Do you offer any discounts for non-profit organisations? Many of our clients are not-for-profit organisations. Our prices are very carefully set to ensure our business is sustainable and can provide a high-quality product and service to all our clients. As such, we don't currently offer a not-for-profit discount, but we will consider a discount for registered charities who are able to provide us with the necessary documentation. Can I pay in my currency? We can invoice in your choice of five currencies: Australian Dollars (AUD), British Pounds (GBP), Canadian Dollars (CAD), Euros (EUR) or US Dollars (USD). Do you offer volume discounts? Yes. If you have 2 or more programs (grants, scholarship programs, etc), we can offer a volume discount for multiple Good Grants accounts. Our crowd voting feature is a great way to get your community involved! Can we share a direct link to an application for crowd voting? Yes, you can. Each application has a unique identifier and can be appended to the end of your voting page URL for direct linking. Can we control how many votes each member can make? Yes you can. We use cookies to control voting without registration. Where greater integrity is important, we recommend enabling registration of your voters. We generally advise against it but it is possible. What types of questions are supported on the Good Grants platform? With more than 15 question types, you can ask just about anything. You can use a variety of text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons or specific fields like URL, date, email or table fields. Is there a way to manage duplicate applications? Yes, there is. We offer a popular feature dedicated to automatically finding and managing duplicate applications. Can I communicate with applicants and reviewers from within Good Grants? Our broadcast and notification functionalities will allow you to communicate quickly with your applicants and reviewers. Broadcast a message to your participants when you have something timely you’d like to convey to many users (announcements or communicating a deadline) or create a notification to be sent when a user performs a particular action on the platform (registered, progressed to a further round, etc). Good Grants uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the European Union to host the system. Our application and database servers are located in Australia, the European Union, Hong Kong, the United States and Canada. You can choose to have your data stored in any one of those regions. Can we use our own domain? Yes, custom domains are available on the Premium plan. Does Good Grants comply with any privacy laws? If yes, which? The Good Grants application is packed full of features to help clients maintain GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) compliance, amongst others.
